ʿAmudah: Two officials transferred for disciplinary reasons

KURDWATCH, December 6, 2010—On November 22, 2010, the governor of al-Hasakah decided to transfer Muhammad Khayr Sulayman Bango (b. 1966, married, seven children) from the Office of School Health in Darbasiyah to the Office of Education in al-Hasakah. The Office of Education is sixty kilometers away from Bango's residence in ʿAmudah. This is the fourth transfer within two years for Bango, a political activist and supporter of the Kurdish Union Party in Syria (Yekîtî). Hozan Amin Haj Hamu (b. 1981, married, two children) was also transferred based on a November 7, 2010 decision by the governor of al-Hasakah. A political activist and supporter of the Kurdish Union Party in Syria (Yekîtî), Hozan Amin Haj Hamu was transferred from the Postal Authority in ʿAmudah to the Postal Authority in al-Hasakah sixty kilometers away. Transfers for political reasons are dictated by the various security services. The governor merely carries out their decisions.
