ʿAmudah: Two people arrested for using the Kurdish language
February 25, 2010 – On February 18, 2010, members of the State Security arrested Alan Ehmed Hisên (b. 1984) and Munteser Ehmed Xelef (b. 1977, stateless Kurd [Ajnabi]), in ʿAmudah. Flower shop owner Hisên ordered Kurdish lettering for a wedding bouquet from Xelef, who works in a computer store. Since the lettering was printed out from a computer and not handwritten, the above-mentioned were arrested and transferred to the State Security in al-Qamishli. Their fate is unknown.
